Why does the Yahoo spam filter not allow us to filter out email with future dates?

A key indicator that an email is spam is a phony future date, so it will float to the top of our email box. Yet Yahoo's spam filter doesn't allow us to filter out those emails as spam. Why? And does anyone know if they will have this feature in the future?
